Suggestions for Solo Travel for Woman in Late 30's
Hi,
I'm looking for suggestions on hotels to stay in the Caribbean where a solo traveler would feel comfortable. I'd just like to go somewhere to veg and relax and de-stress. I think I'd like to stay in an AI for my first solo trip but open to suggestions on other places. Also, does anyone know of any hotels that offer any type of special events/weeks, etc. that are specifically for solo travelers? Thanks so much!

In my 30s I traveled alone to 80 % of the islands!
Hard pard is I loved most. My point? I never felt out of place anywhere.
So pick the island you want, then come back for suggestions of where to stay and what to do

I like Negril Jamaica. But I've never stayed at an All Inclusive.
My other favorite place solo is Mexico, and there's loads of AIs there, but your question seems specific to a Caribbean vacation.

Thanks for the replies. I'm honestly open to anywhere with beautiful turquoise water, so that's why it's difficult for me to decide on a destination.
Blamona - what are you top 5 places that you traveled to solo in the Caribbean? Maybe that will help me narrow it down.
Suze - I love Mexico and it is an option although I've been there 6x in the last 5 years so may try somewhere different. Where did you stay in Mexico solo?

I was in Negril a few years ago, half my trip was solo, the other half was meeting a group of friends for a reunion. The 7-mile beach there is pretty stunning. But Negril is a tad "rough" around the edges, and since it's your first time solo, I'd probably not necessarily recommend it.

Puerto Vallarta is more of a Mexican town vacation, even though there is a beach certainly, it's the Bay of Banderas on the Pacific so more rough and rugged.
To me PV is about the atmosphere, local culture, friendly people, various activities available, history, local cultural events, galleries, art shows, book readings/signings, walking tours, street parties, bus rides, boat cruises, plus R&R at the beach or pool. It's a busy place, hussle and bussle, loads to see and do, not so much about peace and quiet.

Love this Island of St. Martin!! Here are some Highlights: Anse Marcel: see the Raddison or what ever it's called these days. Take a swim with Anquilla as a backdrop. Gran Case: Tuesday night is Mardi Gras. Eat at Spiga, Sky's the Limit LOLO and Sunset Cafe. Orient Beach: great happening beach, much to do or rent a chair and umbrella get a drink and chill. Watch the planes land at the Sunset Bar.. Go to Phillipsburg to shop or see the mammoth cruise ships.Dawn Beach:Watch the Sunrise, beautiful beach with views of St. Barts, visit Busby's for reasonable breakfast, lunch, beers and use of chairs and umbrella, good snorkeling short way out from the shore. Simpson Bay: this is where most of the nightlife is and there's plenty to do and eat during the day as well. you like beautiful Yachts, they got'em. Take a look at the La Samana hotel: it's beautiful, the most luxurious and a beach and view to pay for, I meant to die for. Enjoy, it's some playground. Next time your back, and you will be, use SXM as a stepping off point to visit one of about 4 surrounding Islands:, Anguilla, St. Bart's, Saba, to name a few. Make sure you don't rent a very small under powered car. You'll need the extra power for the hills, especially around Anse Marcel.

I love whichever beach I'm at currently!
My favs (more than 5 really)
Turks and Caicos (feels like second home to me)
Anguilla (although mostly couples, love it)
Virgin Islands- especially St. John and Virgin Gorda
St Vincent and Grenedines ( the Grenedines part Canaon, Palm Island, mustique, )
but I needed some alone time
I've not been alone in Caymans but sure would be fine.
These are favs even alone or with company
