St. Thomas Accommodations
Our first trip to the Virgin Islands will be in 2003. We like nice places to stay, gorgeous views, luxurious accommodations, beautiful water. Where should we stay and why?

It's a special anniversary for us and we want something that is perfect.

Please help us make a decision.

Also we like gourmet food -- any restaurant recommendations. Especially something with romantic atmosphere would be perfect.

Can't help with accomodations as it had been many years since we actually stayed on St Thomas but for dining romantic and very good you must eat at Virgilio's in Charlotte Amalie.

You may want to change your stay to Caneel Bay on St John which is just a shoprt ferry ride from St Thomas. It is a much nicer island, better beaches and snorkeling.

You want the Ritz in St. Thomas. It is absolutely georgeous. We just got back a couple weeks ago and we were so pleased because it was our first trip to the VI too. It is a short ride to the ferry which will take you to St. John. We snorkeled on the beaches at St. John and loved the atmosphere there bettter than St. Thomas, but clearly the Ritz has the best resort. They have 2 pools and a couple small beaches, but not the same as the STJ beaches. Too bad the Ritz is not on St. John because we actually had more fun and there are better beaches (ie Trunk Bay, Caneel Bay). The Ritz is very romantic. Granted it was off season and there were not many people there, but I promise you will not be disappointed.
