You might consider renting a car and doing a complete tour around the island. From Marigot I would head north and stop in Grand Case for lunch then drive to Orient Bay and check out the beach. Keep driving south along the main road and stop in Phillipsburg if dutyfree shopping is your thing, keep going around and check out Baie Longue then finish up in Marigot for some upscale shopping and refreshment.

I am certainly not discouraging you but . . . we have been going to Anguilla for years. Every single year, we say that we're going to go to St Martin for the day. We have yet to do it because once we hit paradise, we never want to leave! (I understand that there's good shopping & there is not in Anguilla).

I just got back from St. Martin a couple of months ago. It was beautiful. If you like snorkeling, Simpson Bay was great. There is an old fort above it and there are even some old canon's in the water. St. Martin is definitley known for it's shopping on Front St.

You know, every island is a bit different depending on its culture. Anguilla is, of course, British and St.Martin Dutch/French. As a couple who have been going to SXM at least twice a year for more than 20 we think that there is lots to see and do.

When we visited Anguilla, we went to St Martin for a day and had a wonderful lunch on the water and did some shop hopping - very much like being in France. We took the bus to the Dutch side and shopped but that was my least favorite part. I'll admit that we regrette losing a day on Anguilla.
