St. Lucia with a toddler?
My wife and I are planning a trip to St. Lucia with the intent of bring our 3.5 year old son and my wife's mother and found a villa near Soufriere that looks very intriguing. In the past my wife and I have traveled to the Dominican Republic, Tulum/Riveria Maya, St. Martin, Anguilla, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and the Turks & Caicos but have only brought our son along to GC & T&C which are much more family friendly from my understanding than St. Lucia. I'm concerned with the increase in crime in St. Lucia that I have been reading about as some of the crimes include home invasion, if just my wife and I were going I would have zero reservations about traveling to St. Lucia, but are we asking for trouble by bringing a toddler to this particular destination? Thanks in advance!

Hi dwanner,
My husband and I stayed in a villa in Soufriere this past February and loved St. Lucia. We had also read about crime but during our week on this gorgeous island, we never felt unsafe or saw anything suspicious. The people we met were kind, polite and gracious. I'd also read the vendors could be aggressive, but we didn't experience that, not even once. I would go back in a heartbeat. Which villa are you interested in?

Thank you very much for your response, the aggressive vendors was another thing I had read about and I'm glad to hear that you and your husband didn't have issues with that. We are looking at staying at La Batterie, which is a private home, it looks phenomenal but I want to do some more research before I go ahead and book it.

Hi dwanner,
When we were in St. Lucia, we met people staying at La Batterie, and visited them for a cocktail as we stayed right around the corner. They gave us a tour, very cool place, incredible view and location, but the place could use a few updates, (my opinion). If you would like more info, you can pm me on trip advisor, Jayne2004 or give me your email and I will respond back to you.

Hello @dwanner,
I was curious to know whether you ended up staying at La Batterie in St. Lucia. If so, I would very much appreciate hearing about your experience. I'm considering booking the villa with two other couples but have some concerns about the reviews I've read, though many are out of date. I hope you're able to provide more info.
Many thanks.
