St. Lucia Royal by Rex
Heading to the Royal in St. Lucia in November. Couple of questions:
1. How are the rooms. Reviews are mostly good, but a few are giving bad reports.
2. Best stables for a 1 - 2 hour ride that would have great views and with some of the ride along the beach.
3. Any recommendations on requesting a particular room at the Royal. Staying in a SeaView Deluxe room.
4. Any other special info you might suggest in terms of tours, restaurants that are a must, etc. Plan to do an all day land/sea and maybe the fish fry.
Thanks for any and all help. This is a great board for information.

Don't know much about the Royal, but there are a couple great restaurants - Buzz and Charthouse, which you can walk to, and Coalpot which is near the Vigie Airport. See here for others

There is so much to do in St Lucia, but a day sail down to Soufriere is a must do. November is a good time to go too as it won't be too busy.

I would highly recommend Atlantic Shores Riding Stables in the southern section of St.Lucia. Google them online to see what's said about them. Below is a link to their video on youtube. The scenery is the best on the island. The ride goes from the stable through beautiful rolling hills and then along a peninsula with the Atlantic Ocean on both sides. You then ride downhill to Honeymoon Beach (beautiful) where you will then agree you are on the most beautiful piece of paradise in the world. The scenery is simply breathtaking. You will not regret riding with them...

The hotel is very nice. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. I had
some friends who used Trims Riding Stable and reported that they rode along the beach. This stable would probably would be a better choice since it is located near the hotel. You would not have the added expenses to travel to the south. The fish fry and the Island Tours are a must. Great local food. Tasty!!! Yummm. We used Fabian tours (www.fabiantoursstlucia.com) for the day tour and trips to shop. I wish I was there now!!!
