St. Kitts: Shopping!!!
Hi! I have some questions about shopping in St. Kitts. I'm interested in local items. Thanks to all who suggested Caribelle Batik. I'll be sure to go! I'm also looking for affordable local art or crafts...jewelry, ceramics, etc. I have read a lot about Kittitians who have stands set up to sell their work...is this all in one centralized place or is it pretty well spread throughout the island? Does anyone have a favorite artist/vendor/store?
Thank you!
Thank you!

The vendors set up their tables outside of resorts, at Turtle Beach, you'll see them lots of places. One of my favorite shops is in "downtown" Basseterre in the circus, it is underneath Ballyhoo restaurant and for the life of me I can't think of the name of the store right now! It's driving me crazy! I have brought back a lot of original art from SK. Rolled the canvas up and pack it in my suitcase to be framed at home. They also have some nice batik art at Caribelle. It's not the kind of shopping you would do in say, St. Thomas or Caymans, but there is still good shopping if you look.
