Biras Creek Ocean Suites
Are there 1 or 2 suites that are in a more private setting with nicer views and landscapes based on your visits there in past 1-2 years?
I would want to put them on request for our 8 night stay in early Dec.
Thanks.

After the management saw the comments on this Forum he upgraded my wife and I to a Grand Suite for only 10% more than the rate of an Ocean Suite, as a one-time-only exception. He was as miffed as I about one of the blogers comments. He said he wants nice people to come and enjoy Biras Creek.
So..."all ends that ends"...well.

Stan,
I am so pleased for you ! You are a gentleman on this board and I was distressed to read what I perceived as *bashing* for your appropriate questions.
It is nice to know that management of various hotels takes the time to read here.
ENJOY your time at Biras and promise us a great trip report, replete with comparisons and all the details !

Yeah Right.....
You must have bored them to death.
FYI...it is not a "discount" it is the Week of enchantment that the new management did away with just very renently. They replaced the WOE with air transfers from PR...
The week of Enchantment was 1 night free which equals 10% off. You did not get anything that anyone else gets if they ask.
You are nothing special, just very annoying. I doubt the management has the time or inclination to read your whining dribble about getting the "best" spot in a resort that accommodates 60.

Annabell: FYI.
The Grand Suite is $1500 more a week plus 17% service/tax=~$1700. I thought they were pretty thoughtful. At Jumby Bay, which I love, I pay $900/night plus tax/service so this sounds like a pretty generous voluntary offer by Biras Creek.
Let's cut it off now. Get a life of your own, please!

Hmmmmm....funny thing is I have a life. I have been on 4 vacations in the past 4 months one of those destinations being Biras Creek.
Another funny thing is is that I just called Biras Creek, and read Stan's post to the management and they informed me that absolutely no discounts of any kind are given, The Price for a Grand Suite is 885 per night...no discounts as there are only 2 of them and they can and do get the full price espically in December.
So I called the 800# and asked for the same price as he got. I mean why not, We are repeat guests and we were married there so why not. We spend a lot of money there so shy shouldn't I get the GS for 10% more than an Ocean suite, The answer was sorry...no discounts are ever given, EVER oh wiht one exception of the Priviledge card, which I do have because I have been there.
Sorry Stan. They did not even know what Fodor's Board was.
Anyone can call and ask their number is 1-800-223-1108 See what happens when you ask for 10% off a Grand Suite...espically when you have never been there. A discount would not have been given because of what was written about Stan on this forum, what does Brias care.
It makes you wonder about all his other posts.

Annabel - Where have you been? Did you miss out on the fact that this kind of behavior (calling an establishment to check up on info from another Fodor's poster) got a popular Fodor's poster banned for life from this website?

Why is calling Biras Creek to get the same deal as Stan did wrong? I do go there every year, and I would expect the same kind of treatment espically since he posted his rates. I would have liked the same "deal" for my trip in November, since I usually book the Grand Suite early to make sure I get it. I was so disappointed to find out that was not true.

Yeah right; I highly doubt you called to book a trip.
Again, why are your posts so confrontational? That is not the purpose of this board.
Life is way too short to make mountains out of mole hills.

I am sorry too all for having even asked the question about Biras Creek. The suite they gave my wife and me is the Premier Suite not the Grand Suite. I am not big on names I just want comfort, space and privacy. I was slightly off also on the Premier rate. It is $1350+ with service/tax. Enough said.
Let's help each other but I am hesitant to ask about our planned trip in early Feb '07 and start such a another problem. we have visited, as many of you have, 15+/- island/country's in the Caribbean, some 3-4 times, and am considering returning to the Barbados after about 6 years but maybe I will wait until the "dust settles".
