St John Villas-Suggestions

Planning on St John in the winter of 2010. Looking to stay in a villa but there are only two of us and the nicest ones seem to be 3 or more bedrooms. Been to Coral Bay and we are looking for accommodations in another part of the island. Looking for good suggestions for a really nice 1-2 bedroom villa on St. John. Obviously a view would be a must. Has anyone stayed at Carnival Beach or Moonsong. We saw those two and liked them. Thanks...

Look at Monkey No Climb. It is new and located in the Bordeaux mountain area. http://www.monkeynoclimb.com/

We're seriously considering it for our first trip to St. John next summer. The views look amazing and I love the fact that it is at a higher elevation (cooler and no bugs). I understand the road is paved so it isn't difficult to access. And, I understand there aren't major construction projects in the immediate area - so you are assured privacy & quiet.

Since it is new there aren't many reviews yet -- but here is the only one I've found:

I've exchanged emails with the owner -- and he seems very nice. There are so many villas to choose from in St. John it is hard to decide. But, this one spoke to me for some reason. We love the idea of being up high - and I think it is priced appropriately.

If my wife & I ever go to St. John by ourselves we will stay at a villa called Angelica. It's just past the Westin, has a nice small pool with A/C in all rooms and it's fairly new. Here's a link: http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/angelica/angelica.html

i stayed at Iguana Inn my first time. It's perfect for two.
For a rustic place ON the water, try Mampoo Hill.

Hubby and I rented a 2 bedroom villa in Point Rendezvous in November, 2009.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the villa Miles Away. This villa was upscale, beautiful, up to date, wonderful furnishings, very, very clean. Wonderful pool. The owners are constantly repainting and updating. Very quiet neighborhood with beautiful views.

I absolutely loved it!

Hubbard, since you say you want a different part of the island, I'm guessing you DON'T want the area on Bordeaux Mt above Coral Bay?
However, if you want a place high on a mt, with spectacular high views (like "Monkey No Climb" a typical St J "dipping pool" paved road, check this place. Yes, it is 3 bedrooms, but for couples, the third bedroom in this or any cottage/villa is closed, and you dont feel swallowed up by the space:
