Spanish Wells VS Eleuthera??

Hi everyone! I am sooo excited about our trip to the Bahamas in May! However it is a little overwhelming trying to pick a house to stay in. We have decided it’s between Spanish Wells or Eleuthera as far as which Island.
The houses we are considering are Kiss a Fish and Rake and Scrape (Spanish Wells). Tropical Impulse and Round House Casuarina Bay (Eleuthera). We looked at Twine Dunes and LOVED it. Would have booked if had been available.
Interested in the Pros and Cons of Spanish Wells VS Eleuthera also.
Anyone familiar with any of the homes or have input on which island to stay on?
Any comments would be great. First time traveling to Bahamas.

Kiss a fish looks lovely on Spanish Wells but if you are a first timer to Eleuthera I would definitely stay on the mainland. Spanish Wells is a small fishing village off the very north end of mainland Eleuthera (which itself is 100 miles long). Visiting SW requires that you take a ferry boat from the mainland. The best way to explore the many many beaches that Eleuthera has to offer is to stay on the mainland (central Eleuthera - palmetto point or governors harbor area) and rent a car for easy access to beaches on the Atlantic and Caribbean side. Eleuthera is a wonderful island and if this is your first time renting in the Bahamas you will be hooked for sure and will be back.

Thank you for your response! I think the more I look at both areas Eleuthera is a better fit for us. We may take a day trip to Spanish Wells just to check it out. I know we will be coming back. So we might want to try Spanish Wells next time. I can't wait!

Totally agree with mnaq! You can't go wrong with either Tropical Impulse or Round House. They seem to be next door to each other, and on a flatter part of the beach (so not 65 steps down like we had last time, although we loved that rental). The water looks slightly less rocky in front of TI, although of course that can change over the years. Have fun deciding!

Have you seen this cool satellite map which shows all the vacation rentals? I've found it very helpful (scroll down for your part of the beach):

You can take a day trip to Spanish Wells, as well as Harbour Island, to check out for next time. Easy to do from Eleuthera
