Small hote Anguilla

Thinking about heading to this gorgeous island. Any recomendations for a moderate hotel on the beach with air conditioning?

I'm not sure what you mean by moderate, there are several that are worth looking into and Bob Green's website www.news.ai may help.
Some suggestions:
La Sirena is not on the beach but a 2 minute walk. They have airco, pools, restaurant and on the beach are chaise longues and umbrellas.
Ferryboat Inn on the beach, not sure about airco.
Shoal Bay Villas, right on beach, no airco(last I heard).
Rendezvous Bay hotel?
I'm sure some other readers can give you much more opinions, but this is just to get you started.
On our trips to Anguilla we've rented a villa instead of staying in a hotel, but Anguilla Great House, on Rendezvous Bay, looks like a very nice property. Not sure if the rooms have a/c, but being right on the beach with breezes at night I'm not sure you'd really need it. Another hotel which looks nice and is on a great beach is Frangipani. They often have good deals.

Depending on when you plan your trip (low vs. high season) you may be able to find a charming villa for the same price as a hotel room. www.villas.ai has a comprehensive list, and so does www.mycaribbean.com. We've stayed at La Petite Maison d'Amour and Bow Green and would highly recommend either one.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Hi Mae. Check out the Carimar Beach Club on Meads Bay. We stayed there in October and absolutely loved it. Cooked our own meals a few times (every utensil known to man kind was in the kitchen) and found some wonderful restaurants. (If you go, splurge on Altamer - unbelievable!!!) Anyway, the rooms are not air-conditioned, but you can arrange to have one put in the bedroom for comfortable night sleeping. Check it out. We would go back in a heartbeat!

We stayed at Anguilla Great House and it was wonderful. I would go back in a heartbeat. We had a/c in our unit, but it didn't work that well, but there was such a delicious breeze all the time you didn't need it and believe me when I say you can live without it, you can cause I'm always complaining about the heat.

They were the nicest people, the food was great and the stretch of beach was beautiful.

It was uncrowded and small. I wasn't sure if I would like a smaller property, but after I got there I fell in love with it.

Try Frangipani.ai or the Rendezvous Bay or Shoal Bay Hotels. There's a website that lists hotels by price http://hotels.ai.
