Yes, we stayed at the Frangipani Beach Club this summer for 2 weeks, following recommendations given on this forum and the Caribbean-on-Line forum. We liked it a lot! It is indeed very quiet, but that is exactly what we wanted. It is right on a fantastic, deserted beach. The food in the restaurant is excellent. Mostly we were the only people there!
Before going there, we were advised to request either room (or rather, suite) A1A or A5A (we'd booked the 1-bedroom suite), which are the closest to the beach (but the whole hotel is right on the beach, so the difference is marginal). We got A5A, which was on the 1st floor and had no less than 3 balconies. Beautiful views of the sunset. A1A is on the ground floor, right on the beach. All the suites are very spacious and have a big kitchen (not that I did much cooking) and washer/dryer. But frankly, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the suites, they all looked good.
Hope this helps. One thing I would advise you to do is rent a car and drive around - driving is really easy on Anguilla even though it's on the left, basically it's just one long road... Good luck!

Have stayed there a dozen times and are headed back 22 Nov-3 Dec. Very small quiet and intimate. The Meads Bay beach is great, Frangipani has a very nice restaurant and pool. I think for what you get it is the best deal for the dollar on Anguilla. If you e-mail me I will give you some good web sites for Anguilla info

Hi Nanette! My husband and I were in Anguilla last year and we stayed at the Carimar Beach Club. While walking along Meads Bay, we passed the Frangipani Beach Club and thought it looked lovely. You should have a wonderful time. If, for whatever reason, that doesn't pan out for you, check out where we stayed. Make sure one night you and your husband dine at Altamer - wonderful food, unbelievable ambiance and romantic, romantic, romantic! Have a wonderful trip!!!

Serenity Cottage (http://www.serenity.ai/)is also very nice and quiet (and moderately priced). It's located on an uncrowded part of beautiful Upper Shoal Bay. They also have an excellent restaurant and beach bar.
