Help!!!!!Place to stay in Anguilla
We are 2 seniors who will be in anguilla in Feb. for 3 weeks. We are looking for a rather laidi back place, (no luxury resorts). Would like a place with a pool, A/c, Kitchen, close to beach or on beach with laundry facilities close by. I know Anguilla is expensive, but dont want to spend much more than $300. or so a night. Thanks for your help in advance. We will be renting a car.

We spent two nights at Allamanda Beach Club (I think you mean that one?) two years ago. Not posh by any means, but perfectly comfortable and a good location. Right on Shoal Bay. We didn't get around too much, as were were attending a show elsewhere, but we did enjoy a few of the restaurants and beach bars. Loved Gwen's, which is right next door. I would stay there again. Also, Serenity Cottage on the same beach, looks lovely.

You might also want to look at the Arawak Inn in Island Harbour on Anguilla. My husband and I are trying to book a 4 night stay in Anguilla in October and we keep going back to them. You have to book a room with kitchen & a/c ahead of time and pay a bit extra, but even their winter rates are in your price range.
Check out some of their packages, which might be appealing to you.
If Carimar is in your price range, it would be an excellent choice, but your budget is close on that one. I believe Serenity is more than you'd like to pay, as is Paradise Cove. (For our upcoming trip I'm looking at all of the places that are under $200/night in low season, which are pretty much the same places that are under $300/night in high season that you're looking at.)
I've heard good reports back about LaVue on the www.anguillaforum.com. You might want to check in over there with specific questions.
