Sandals or Couples?

I've been seeing some great package prices to Jamaica recently. Help us decide between Sandals Negril and Couples Negril. Can anyone compare beaches, rooms, food? Thank you.

Just wondering where you've seen the good prices. Thanks.

We have stayed at both properties and enjoyed both locations. Sandals Negril is located on the famous 7 mile beach. Couples is in more of a cove area without direct access to the long beach. The beach in front of their property is wide and you can walk to other properties nearby. Sandals Negril has a much larger selection of restaurants and includes exchange priviledges with their other properties. Couples has an e-mail station in the lobby for keeping in touch with home and or business. The service was good at both locations. Couples does not have as wide a selection of room categories as Sandals.
These are a few of the differences between the two properties that stand out to me. Enjoy your holiday!

I agree with the previous comments and would also include that couples is more laid back and romantic with couples tending to keep to themselves and the average age being a bit older, while Sandals Negril is a wee bit more rowdy with lots of crazy pool games and beer drinking contests etc. Peopel compete in crazy games all week long and accumulate points to win gifts at the end such as T-Shirts, sandals necklaces, bottles of rum and such. I personally like Sandals Negril better as we are a young and active couple.

Can't comment on Sandals, but we stayed at Couples negril in Feb and loved it. Tip: if you stay at couples, don't bother getting "oceanfront" -- room categories are almost all the same, most views are obstructed by foliage anyway, and the bigger "suites" seemed to have no privacy, as they were on the ends of the building blocks, with public walkways past their patios. that said, we really enjoyed couples. Food and drinks were fresh and plentiful, rooms were adorable (bring candles!), beach was pleasant.

Sandals is wonderful. It can be as active or as quiet as you want it to be. The beachis wonderful, great beach side pool with bar, true beach front rooms, good evening entertainment, and a wonderful romantic, relaxing and casual atmsophere.

Stayed at Couples and it was a very nice resort, but I will never go back to a country with so many thieves. If you truly want to visit this country, then go to either of these resorts and stay at the resort. Do not attempt to visit the countryside. I suggest you try other islands where you safety is not a worry

whyjamaica:

What happened? I detest innuendo. Can't you spell out exactly what happened, instead of making leading comments?

Dont let anyone scare you away from a place. Jamaica is a wonderful island, true its poor and there are people whom try to sell you things. A simple NO is all you need. The people themselves are great and extremely freindly.
Now for you ? Sandals is just a little classier the couples. They are both great resorts. We are Sandals people 100%. We go every Feb.
