Does anyone have any information on this new upscale resort on Harbor Island? What little I could find out about it (their website and a few short reviews on tripadvisor.com) indicate it is quite luxurious. I am particularly interested in whether it is in close proximity to a nice beach and snorkeling. Also would be interested in any impressions that any of you have of Coral Sands, which is also on Harbor Island. Thanks

We just returned from Harbour Island last week. We did have lunch at Rock House, it was very nice. The hotel is "in town" overlooking the harbor. You could rent a golf cart and go to the beach, but the hotel is not on a beach. Coral Sands is in the process of being renovated. The Lucaya Suites are new, but we did not see them. If you love the beach, a better choice would be Coral Sands over Rock House. Go to www.myharbourisland.com for more information. You might want to rent a beach house, which are listed on the website. Good Luck

Rock House just opened as a hotel within the last year or so and I understand it is VERY nice. It is on Bay St. overlooking the Harbour and most of the rooms have fab views of the water.
The 3 mile beach is on the other side of the island and not a far walk, also there are snorkle trips you can take with Valentine's Dive Shop which is right down the road from Rock House.
You might try the N. Eleuthera, Harbour Island website as well for more info www.briland.com.
There are several nice restaurants on island and a bit of shopping and a few straw market stands and a few art galleries and a deli, grocery stores, ice cream shop and some of the friendliest people you will ever meet.
Hope this helps.

Dunsmore is also very nice and it's right on the beach. I think they now have a pool and a beautiful deck/gabezo area. The restaurant on site is also very good.
Dunsmore is on a stretch of beach with Runway Hill on one side and Coral Sands and Pink Sands on the other side.
The accomodations at Dunsmore are cottages overlooking the ocean.
I will be on island the begining of August if you have specific questions I can do a bit of research for you.
Hope this helps.
