restaurants

My husband and I are serious foodies. So many mixed and conflicting reviews about restaurants. I need 7 of the best. Anyone dare to comment? Also must have an excellent wine list.

When we were in Anguilla this past spring, one of the restaurants "of the moment" was Veya. It lived up to the hype.

For a more "island" feel, consider Deon's Overlook and Zara's, but neither of them will wow you with their wine lists.

Thank you callaloo. Blanchards has a very high "rating" but very conflicting opinions about that restaurant.

Hibernia is the most exotic food-wise and with the best wine list. You might also check out Caprice, Koal Keel, Straw Hat, Luna Rosa, Mango's and, of course, Veya (unless you're going in August -- they're closed for the month).

veya
blanchards
Pimms
Zurra (a different place from Zara)

Other than Veya, those were our best meals on the island, and we think we;re pretty serious foodies. veya was our only "wish we had eaten there" place.

Blanchards immediately comes to mind. They have a huge wine cellar.
Pimms would also make the list.
I agree with Veya too.

I agree with Mary D--love the wine and food at Hibernia-its one of the best on the island. Mangos, Veya, Koal Keel, Pimms and Malliouhana have good wine cellars. We are also foodies-but not food or wine snobs. Go with the flow. There are conflicting reviews----as each and every one has their own opinion, and tastes-plus sticker shock at the high prices.

We also love Trattoria Tramonto,
and Barrel Stay. We go to Anguilla
3 times a year.

We go to Anguilla every year for the beaches, people and outstanding dining--our picks--not in order:
Mangos (can be inconsistent)
Blanchards
Zurra
Barrel Stay
Pimms
Malli's dining room (inconsistent but has great winelist)
Koal Keel
Cote de Mer (wine list is limited but still worth it)
Veya (have not been yet but hear great things)
CoveCastles (very small restaurant but work hard at pleasing)

Another vote for Veya.. I would like to go back for the tasting menu. I had a great experience at Blanchards - the owners were there when I went last Nov.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I have just returned and I absolutely loved Cap Juluca. Our best meal was at Veya. We did the tasting menu. Second best was Blanchards.

Dining at Mango's is awesome. CuisinArt has fabulous food too. Pimms is a must.

Definitely Zurra at Temenos Golf Resort..Very special and the service cannot be beat.

Other good places.. Mango's, Luna Rosa..

For casual food... Picante's..Mexican obviously.

Blanchard's was good.. nothing great, but good. Did not love Trattoria Tramonte.
