Anguilla recommendation
We have traveled to St. Martin several times and love Grand Case as we can walk to a different restaurant every night, and there is a little shopping in the village. We would like to go to Anguilla this year. Any suggestions on a spot that has a nice beach and could walk to restaurants and small shopping?

What you are seeking doesn't really exist on Anguilla. Most resorts are not located anywhere near the town where you'll find the vast majority of shopping. Most restaurants are spread out around the island and not clustered near any resorts. Honestly, you'll need transportation to shop and dine. The one exception is a couple of places on Shoal Bay East - I think you'll find 3 restaurants (not the best on the island) within walking distance of Shoal Bay Villas.

Roamsaround is absolutely correct, Anguilla does not have a central area, there is really very little shopping. Meads Bay has Petals Boutique at Frangiapani and ZaaZaa at Anacaona, if you stayed at Frangi you would have several restaurants within walking distance, Straw Hat, Jacala, all the restaurants at Viceroy. Trip Advisor has a very active Anguilla forum.

Special offers on Cap Juluca packages - deals on hotel vacation packages and luxury hotels in Anguilla, British West Indies.http://www.luxurylink.com/fivestar/h...h-west-indies/...
Great upscale hotel values here. Anguilla pretty beaches flat hot remote would not lend itself well to walking and shopping shopping.Might check out Carl Gustav Hotel or other St. Barths
hotel much better for what you want.

Anguilla is one island that renting a car is a must if you are dining out because the good restaurants are scattered around the island. We also stay at Grand Case Beach Club for the reason that it has great access to the restaurant row but we just love the beaches of Anguilla so we can't stay away from it either. We stay at Carimar Beach Club when in Anguilla and there are several good restaurants like Blanchards, Jacala and Straw Hat that are walking distance from there. There is also a guy that does the local bbq that is near there as well. We have not tried Lucy's but that is also walking distance from Carimar at Meads Bay.
