Resorts in Provo

We are planning to go to T&C in Nov (7days) for our honeymoon. We are looking for suggestions/opinions on places to stay. We have the following in mind, which one would you suggest/not suggest and why?
- Parrot Cay
- Point Grace
- The Somerset
- Gansevoort
- Grace Bay club
any others that we should consider? Has anyone stayed at the Villa Renaissance?

We would like something that is not very crowded, ocean view, good service.

Thanks!

I've stayed at all the above. They all have different feels to them, so why don't you tell me more about yourself, what you like out of vacations (I realize it's your honeymoon, but what you generally like) active, budget, length, then I'd be happy to recommend.

Fodor's In Focus: Turks and Caicos, dedicated to just T&C, comes out July 7th, and all of the above resorts except for Gansevoort are reviewed.

Tell me more, and I'd be happy to help recommend.

Besides honeymoons (and even for a honeymoon) my ideal no budget vacation is 3 days at Parrot Cay, rest of the week at Sommerset.

All your choices are nice, just have different feels, can't go wrong with any of them.

We have stayed at many places on TCI but, most recently my wife and I stayed at The Somerset...fantastic suites( Viking appl., marble floors, beautiful baths and furnished so nice) , great staff, 2 excellent on site restaurants , beach service, included breakfast, and many others within walking distance.
Villa Renn.--self catering, no restaurant but can walk to many. So, no

novhmtc, assume you are aware parrot cay is on a separate island from provo. thus no access to all the excellent dining options.
as you'll be honeymoooning you might enjoy this:
"Grace Hutchings sailed to Providenciales (formerly known as Blue Hills) from Grand Turk in 1892 with her new husband to honeymoon in the hills of the Bight, overlooking the breath-taking turquoise sea. Grace was a gracious, elegant young woman who charmed the local residents. Soon after she and her new husband departed, the locals named the twelve mile beach along the north shore in her honour." (pt.grace site)

blamona, does the book cover have a woman in pink bathing suit & blue flips swimming through some corals? i'm assuming yes and have preordered on amazon. yippee

virginia, we are aware that Parrot Cay is on a separate island. That is one of the reasons we were thinking of 3 days at Parrot Cay and 4 days somewhere on Grace Bay to enjoy the excellent food!

blamona, we are looking for more of a place to relax and unwind (since the 2 weeks heading up to our honeymoon is going to really hectic). We do plan on exploring the island(s) - da conch shack, chalk sound, half moon bay, conch farm (is this worth going to??), iguana island(again, not sure),snorkel. Would you guys recommend the flamingo pond?
Has anyone tried Snuba? Anything else that you guys would recommend? What would you guys rate as "must see/do"?

Also, is end of Nov a good time to travel?

end of nov is an excellent time to go. ocean temp will be warmest of year. air temp hot, and should be after the hurricane season. also it's low season so prices are less and fewer ppl around. and i think 3 days on parrot cay/rest on grace bay is a really good plan. i would do parrot cay first for max destressing.
the conch farm is interesting but not exciting. takes about 45 mins. the highlight for me are the conch pearls in the gift shop, well, & the talk at the end of the tour on regenerating parts. i'd probably do the other things on your list first.
long bay beach is nice for a walk a/or to collect conch shells. after you go to da conch shack drive on out the road to northwest point resort. you'll get to see what the island used to look like. if you have a 4-wheel rental drive out to malcolm road beach. beautiful deserted beach, good snorkeling, next to amamyara. http://www.paradise.tc/images/photos/malcolmtiki.jpg
snorkel at smiths reef. take the small road (right) near turtle cove marina towards the yacht club. turn left at dead end. park in sandy lot at next dead end. walk back along beach until you see rock carin (hope its still there) on beach (5 mins). water entry is narrow through rocks. then swim out and to left to a large circular coral head. caution some very shallow spots especially at low tide. you should see turtles, rays and asst fish. a 2nd coral is further out to the right.
your resort may be willing to do a private dinner on the beach for you.

blamona, a quote. do i mind? ha !!! i've told everyone i know that i'm quoted in a book. i am beyond excited. thank you.

Virginia, thanks for the suggestions. The pic looks great.

Anyone stayed at Point Grace? How would you rate Point Grace for honeymooners? Is it very private? How is the service?

novhmtc, You definitely have to do Snuba. We were just there and it was awesome! my husband who usually is kind of freaked out about the water did it and it turned him into a fish =) Just loved it and Jodi who is the instructor is one of the most awesome people we met on the island. You have to do it!

Point Grace would be very nice, very quiet ( even a sign at the pool asks you to be quiet! ) Private-yes, beach-you may be the only ones on it, very large beach area. great food, service -can't say now, stayed there in 2004 ( before Somerset was built, lol) Service was good then
