My husband and I are staying at the Bucuti (tara suites) August 28 to Sept. 3rd. Are we better off renting a car for the week to get into town for dinner and sight seeing or should we just take taxis? How far is the Bucuti from town? Any other info on the Bucuti is appreciated. Thanks!

Bucuti isn't that far from town so taxi won't be expensive at all. Your other option is the public bus that stops in front of the resorts and is VERY inexpensive (think around $2).

I second the thought for the public bus. If you go out in town after dinner you can always take a taxi back if the bus has stopped running.

Enjoy your time in Aruba. I will be there from Aug 26-31. Maybe we can all meet for a drink!

We stayed at the Bucuti in March....its good. I would for sure try to stay in the new Tara wing like we did...it opened in March. The Bucuti is VERY VERY quiet.....taxis into town are fine. AVOID the Aruba jeep tour..its hell on earth..

We stayed at the Bucuti last year and will vacation there again this year also in the Tara Suites. Location is close to town. You could always consider renting a car during your stay for a few days if you choose. Very scenic on both ends of the island and an easy drive. The beach is beautiful at the Bucuti--have a great trip!
