Transportation on Aruba
My fiance and I will be traveling to Aruba for four nights in September. We are staying at the Westin.
Questions: Is it easy enough to take a cab from the Airport to the Westin? If so, what's the approximate cost?
Thanks!

I totally agree with Travelbuff127! Take the bus. It's cheap and very safe. The drivers are very helpful and will make sure you get off where you should!
My husband and I traveled to Aruba for our honeymoon sept 2008. We had transportation arranged by our travel agent from the airport to hotel and back, however I had read to use the public transportation to get around the island!
My husband was nervous about it at firs...but I can't stress enough on how simple it was, cheap and safe...i never felt unsafe!!

We just got back from the Westin and loved it. We rented a car for the first few days so we can explore the island, visit different beaches, etc. We did take a cab to the airport and it was $25. Very easy to get a cab at the airport and hotel. We got a great rate of $106 for 4 days from Payless. We would have paid $25 anyway for the trip from the airport. We were able to stop at the supermarket on the way to the hotel for some snacks and wine. And we then used the car to go to Flying Fishbone and Marandi for dinner and travel to the lighthouse, downtown, Malmok, Arashi and Baby beaches. We would have spent more in cab fare going to those places than what we spent on the car. There are plenty of places to shop, eat and dine within walking distance of Westin, though. Definitely go to Bugalo beach bar right on beach near Westin (in front of RIU). Good food, cheap drinks and live music several nights. Salsa lessons Wed. night.
