Aruba or Curacao

Which island is a better vacation destination? Or, if you haven't been to both, could you tell me if you liked the one you went to. I appreciate your comments. Thanks a bunch.

Have been to both and it of course depends on what you like to do. Curacao is fine if your idea of a vacation is a quiet place to lay around and relax. As hectic as things have been at my job lately this would be perfect. Aruba is my preference of the two however. The beaches are better, there is more nightlife and shopping and more variety of restaurants. And if you golf I don't think Curacao has a course. Both have very friendly people and we liked em both but our vote is for Aruba. One other thought is to spend time on both as long as you are there.

I've been to both. Aruba is a little more "user friendly" and more tourist savvy. They are both great and different. I would suggest Aruba first. We have been to Aruba twice and Curacao once.

Another vote for Aruba. Not that Curacao isn't nice, but there's more going on in Aruba, more hotel choices, restaurants, etc. Aruba has great beach (Palm Beach) and many nice hotels on that beach. They have many nice restaurants, shopping, golf, casinos. Overall, there's just more to do.

We loved Curacao. The architecture, charming people, wonderful food, the floating bridge, canals, and all the shopping as well as the leisure.

I just returned last night from Curacao and I have been to Aruba twice (once in July of this year) and I too prefer Aruba.

Aruba is easier to navigate and the beaches are definately better. Aruba offers more restaurants and the nightlife is definatelt better. Plus the island of Aruba (and I may get beaten up for this one), but Aruba appears to be much cleaner.

Good luck deciding!

They are two really different places. I have not been to Aruba, but to Curacao often. Aruba has an economy totally reliant on tourism. Curacao also has an oil refinery and a large banking community. It is more diverse, but as a result also a bit more chaotic.
