Is it worth takin g taxi to Flying Fish/Madame J

I'm thinkin of going to Aruba late July for 4 nights. I'm staying @Radisson. Is Flying Fisgbone & madame Jeanettes far from this Hotel? would we need to rent a car? How expensive is taking a taxi from and to?

Thanks in adavnce for your input.

Not sure how much the taxi is to Flyin' Fishbone..we stayed at Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino in Oranjestad. Our taxi was about $20.00??(it's hard to remember as we went in April 03).

We took the bus back...it's much cheaper.

The ambience and view are totally worth the trip to Flyin' Fishbone. The food was also pretty good.

Have fun!

I am pretty certain that the bus does not go to the Flying Fishbone.

We went to Aruba last Sept. Through our research, we were advised that the bus system did not go all the way to Flying Fishbone. A taxi would run about $30-$35 one way. We decided to skip it.

Madam Jeanettes is a short distance from the Radisson. Maybe $10-$15 one way.

We had every intention of trying several resturants, but didn't make it to hardly any of them since we did several tours that included a meal. However, our favorite was Le Petite. We had steak and lobster that was stoned cooked for $29 p/p. It was wonderful, and it's withing walking distance from the Radisson

I recommend El Gaucho and Smokey Joe's. The first is a bus ride and the 2nd walking distance.

THANKS for all your inputs. I guess we'll need to rent a car for one day for sight see & dinner at Flying Fishbone. That's one restaurant that i truly want to go.
We don't eat red meat so El Gaucho is out of our Ite.

Thanks all

One more question: Any good things about Radisson? and of course activities? So far i have the natural pool to visit, ATV and horse back riding. Is the lighthouse worth visiting?

actually yes, the light house is pretty neat. super views. and only a short ride (15 min) from the radisson. had an enjoyable lunch at the resterant at the lighthouse as well. flying fishbone i think is on the other side of the island, so if you choose to go there, def. rent a car, and perhaps go to baby beach for the morning or afternoon.

We did a full day snorkel tour with MiDushi, went to De Palm Island for the day, did the Beach Express which took us Baby Beach, Malo Halto and Rodgers Beach, the Jeep tour with ABC, which went to the Lighthouse and the Natural Pool as well as several other tourist spots. If you go to the Natural Pool wear water shoes. There is lots of walking up and down a rocky surface and large big rocks you'll have to climb over to get in and out of the pool. We went to the Havana Nights dinner and show, which was very enjoyable and the dinner was surprisingly good. We walked to the Butterfly Farm, which is close to the Radisson. If you drink, go on the Kukoo Bus. Very fun evening. We also found shopping in Aruba to be very good. Not like some Islands that have 90% jewelry stores and the other tourist shops.

I just got back from Aruba and went to the FLying Fishbone for lunch. I highly recommend going for lunch if possible. We had a table literally IN the water (our ankles were in water which was wonderfully cooling). We had a car and it's about a 1/2 hour drive from the Radisson. The food was good.
