Look into El Convento.
I stayed there once many years ago. I did not remember it well and when I walked by the property just a few years ago, I really did not remember it being fancy! The place seems to have been totally done over into a luxury hotel. It is right in the heart of scenic OSJ.

Do check out the rooftop pool and the 'happy hour'
It's walking distance to so many good restaurants but do try 'Tantra', they have a belly dancer who dances in the doorway on the hour - on a Saturday at least.
We went there for cocktails and it was so entertaining watching the passerbys gawp at her.
I can't vouch for the food
