I just came back last night, stayed at the Marriott but saw the Radisson. It is gorgeous. The pool area is spectacular maybe even the nicest on the island. The grounds are amazing, much better than the old Radisson. You will love it, they have padded blue chairs by the pool.
Plus, you are really close to the Hyatt which you must see and eat at the Ruinas del mar. Gorgeous!

STAYED AT THE RADISSON WHEN IT WAS JUST ABOUT COMPLETED THERE WERE SOME ROUGH AREAS THAT HAD TO BE WORKED OUT, BUT THE HOTEL,GROUNDS,POOL,RESTAURANTS WERE
JUST BEAUTIFUL, AND THEY WEREN'T FINISHED DECORATING. THE CASINO WHICH GEORGE THE MANAGER DESIGNED IS JUST BREATHTAKING WITH ITS LASER LIGHTS DOMED CEILING. THE LOCATION IS GREAT SO IF YOU GO I ADVISE YOU TO STAY AT THE RADISSON YOU WON'T BE SORRY

I am now on the island and visited the property of Radisson Aruba. It is really a very classy hotel lush landscapes with many waterfalls beautifull pool area with parrots and othe different birds. Rooms are awesum. The 50 million dollar renovation of this resort really shows and I am certain you will not be dissapointed.

I am considering Aruba for a vacation and pretty much settled on the Hyatt, with the only concern being the very small balcony (unless I spring for an oceanfront suite).

Can anyone compare how the Radisson now compares to the Hyatt in terms of the beach, pool, hotel ambience, service and rooms? Would they both be considered equal 5-star resorts?

Both the Hyatt and the Radisson on Aruba are great five star resorts hotels. The landscapes at the Hyatt are much more fuller and certain parts of the resort makes you feel as if you were in a "jungle". At the Radisson there is more room because the landscape have just been redone. The small balconies at the Hyatt is perhaps the only minus point of the resort. But both hotels are excellent choices, the Radisson has the largest spa on the island which is plus point. So I would say the Radisson is certainly the best hotel on the island winning by a slight margin from the Hyatt and Marriott.

I forgot a few more things.

The Beach infront of the Radisson is my opinion nicer than that of the Hyatt and it is more uncrowded. The ambience of bothe hotels is very upscale like. The Hyatt having a much more historical like ambience than the Radisson. Service is great at both resorts. The Radisson has nicer rooms than the Hyatt in my opinion. The restaurants at the Hyatt are much more romantic than those found at the Radisson. I my opinion both are equal five star resorts though Radisson beats the Hyatt by a slight advantage.

We just returned and loved the Raddison. We didn't stay there, but found the grounds and beach restaurant (Gilligans) to be our favorite. We really liked the pool's feature of sand around it, so you felt you were close to the caribbean. They also had a great calm, smooth sanded beach. Nothing like the Holiday Inn, just a couple resort down. It full much more full of rocks and coral.

Hi MelbaToast!

The Radisson is a perfect place for a honeymoon. I was there this past October for my honeymoon. There were not many families there that we encountered. There was a pier off the beach close to the Radisson that rented different equipment and water excursions, but not sure what to be exact. We had a jr. suite overlooking the water, and the sunset was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions about the Radisson or Aruba itself.
