question for caribbeansoul
My plan right now is to stay at Coco LaPalm in July. As I have mentioned before, trying to do this trip on a budget. At this time of year, if we book a lower room category, are the odds decent after arrival to upgrade at a reasonable price? We like a nice view of the sea but could do without as long as we had a view of gardens or something tropical. Have read that there are some rooms at CLP have a view of a fence and parking lot. That would not be acceptable no matter how low the cost.

brenandg: You have nothing to worry about....occupancy in July is 50% at best. You'll have the opportunity to upgrade when you get there, or if you like, I can supply you the email addy of the GM and you can initiate contact with him directly to secure an upgraded room. The rooms around the courtyard pool (we like the JR Suites) or the 4 beachfront rooms are the best in the resort. The rooms located on the other side, the annexed inn, have all been remodeled and are nice as well, however there are some lesser positioned rooms near the back of the property near the buys Norman Manley Blvd. Make sure you post a trip report! I think you'll really enjoy your time in Negril!

Not a problem, [email protected] Can relate to the privacy concerns. Hopefully Norton continues to do its job. Would actually like to chat with you further and not clog up the board.
