Provo questions
We've been reading a lot of positive comments about Grace Bay in the Turks & Caicos and we're seriously considering it for our next trip. Two questions:

1. Allegedly Grace Bay is 12 miles long. Is this really 12 miles of continuous, walkable sand?

2. Most of the resorts we see mentioned are pretty expensive. What are the cheapest places to stay that are either on the beach at Grace Bay, or very close (e.g. across the street) ?

Honestly chazz,
when you step off that plane and look at that beautiful crystal clear water and white warm sand, you will forget every peeny you spent. Turks is truly worth the money. It is beautiful, relaxing and friendly. I spent my honeymoon there this July and had the most amazing vacation. It is very hard to find something you can compare it to in the caribbean.

enjoy!!

I stayed at Comfort Suites last December. It was about 30% cheaper than staying in a condo on the beach.

The hotel is relatively new. The pool bar is open from about 4-10 pm. Continental breakfast (coffee/tea, juices, croissants and bran squares) was included. My room had a mini-fridge to keep drinks cold.

As mentioned, the hotel is across the street from the Allegro, about a 2 minute walk to the beach.

Their website is www.comfortsuitestci.com

The Caribbean Paradise Inn (just behind the Grace Bay Club would be a reasonably-priced alternative. In my understanding, there are no cheapies as such, on Provo.
http://www.paradise.tc

The TCI Tourism Board also has other listings on their website:
http://www.turksandcaicostourism.com/tctb/accommodations/

And, yes, the beach is that long and it's public all the way...
