professional photographer in Negril
Hi --<BR><BR>Does anyone have any ideas on how I would be able to find a professional photographer in Negril, prefereably a photojournalist? I'm thinking about having a destination wedding in Jamaica, but based on what I've seen online, I'm not too thrilled with the photographers the resorts provide. Any info to point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Not much to choose from on island for photojournalists of quality who'd do a Negril wedding. If she's on island -- and interested -- <BR>Cookie Kincaid of the English magazine<BR>'Tatler' might be a far more than routine choice. Contact her via the magazine. We'd also recommend flying in<BR>a shooter -- one whose work you already know and love -- directly from the States for the day/3 day -- and using the trip as a trade-off against the day shooting rates. Most shooters would love the chance -- and get some good stock landscape and personal work done in the process.

Since online stock has cut deeply into the market, photojournalists without attitude will indeed shoot weddings -- and give a different perspective than standard 'wedding photographers' on resort staffs, which is what this bride-to-be wants. Check your city/area's local Advertising Agency/Ad Club for a roster of photographers;see their books;then strike a deal. You should expect to see day rates of at least US$1,500/day, plus film/processing/assistant/travel,etc.expenses for anyone of quality.
