Please help pick Honeymoon place
Hi all! We are getting married on May 26th, 2007 and we have no clue where to go for honeymoon. Since we are paying for our wedding, we want something that's not going to kill the bank, no kids, just beautiful beach and maybe a bit of night life (good bars)and great food is a must. Can you please suggest some great places, we looked into Curacao and Aruba but been getting mixed review from everyone. We are in our ealry 30's and really just want to have a good time. Thank you all in advace for your help!

Depending on where you are travelling from, I think you would love the Bahamas, Jamaica or Cancun/Cozumel. Better yet, take a cruise to the Caribbean and get a balcony room! These are all good for night life and bars, and beautiful beaches. I have never had great food at any of the islands, but it is not terrible either.
No matter where you go, be sure to tell them you are honeymooning and you are sure to get a few upgrades here and there!

How about Playa del carmen or Tulum both south of Cancun? They will both be kind of hot and humid during May and you may have rain showers, but the beaches are very pretty and they don't break the bank. We stayed at the Iberostar Quetzel for our honeymoon, an all inclusive and really enjoyed it. There are other hotels however that are for adults only if you want the whole honeymoon atmosphere. I have heard that the Royal Hideaway is a resort that caters to couples. Good luck!

I'd suggest (if they have availability) Bucuti Beach in Aruba, it's on the best beach on the island and most importantly for your honeymoon - they cater to couples instead of families.
We've stayed there twice (2004 and 2006) and while I worry about going back to a hotel/island that we've enjoyed because it might not be as good the second time around, this wasn't the case with Bucuti.

Restaurants are easy to get to using the islands buses and there are some within walking distance - Pizza Bob's and the French Steakhouse at Manchebo Beach resort spring to mind.
Bucuti have 2 happy hours a day and the cocktails are half price.
Aruba isn't a lush island (if you want lush check out 'Idle Awile' in Jamaica)but you can guarantee the weather, check out the reviews on Tripadvisor.
We like small resorts and have enjoyed (besides Bucuti) Nisbet Plantation on Nevis and Idle Awhile in Negril, Jamaica.
Best wishes for your honeymoon - I'm sure you'll get quite a few ideas from this website

I second the recommendation for the Bucuti. We were there in December and thought the resort was first rate. There were no children there, the rooms were very nice and the beach itself is wide, beautiful, and uncrowded. The Bucuti offers a moderately priced (particularly during the low season when we traveled and when you will be going) honeymoon package that includes a private dinner for two on the beach (good food and very romantic). Aruba itself has many excellent restaurants, including a number that are within walking distance or a short cab ride from the hotel. Both the downtown and the high-rise area offer evening entertainment and both are only a few miles away in either direction. The Bucuti itself is a quiet resort with minimal entertainment (basically just the happy hours described above and twice a week movies on the beach - although the Beach Boys recently gave a concert at the hotel's Pirates Nest restaurant - but that clearly an exception to the norm).

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions. Actaully, FI and I looked at Bucuti hotel, and we actually like it. The only problem is that Laby mentioned that the hotel it self has minimal entertainment. We would like to have some sort of entertainment while on the honeymoon.
