We were at Peter Island for our 10 year anniversary at the end of May and had a SPECTACULAR time. We took it easy on alcohol and really didn't have a large bill. We did do the scuba resort course whihc was personal (like everything at PeterIsland) and great and I got a massage. Shuttles to and from islands were perfect.
Overall..better than our honeymoon!

Hi Suzyn
Congrats on your wedding and honeymoon! You will love PI. We were there in April for 10 days, it was great!! With regards to beverages, I was also told no ice tea etc. was included, and even brought along some cold brew ice tea bags to make my own, but never did need them. They did not charge for it or hot teas or coffee. All alcoholic beverages are charged and 17% is added. We drank every day and averaged 50.00 per day for two. It is of course hard to know what each individuals tab could end up being. Hope you get this message, as it is close to your date. Enjoy!! We will be off with the kids to Cancun then, for our family vacation. Best Wishes.

I am going to suggest Young Island in St. Vincent for a fraction of the cost of Peter Island. While I am sure Peter Island is great- I think you can get a wonderful experience for much less. Young Island is also a private island resort and is very lush and tropical- the service and food are both exceptional. check it out at www.youngisland.com. Also, do a search under young island on this board and will get some good trip reports.

I enjoyed Young Island, but had I not been in cottage 10, I think I would have a bit disappointed. I did enjoy the food, but it is quite a bit more "islandy" than PI food (that can be either a plus or minus). There is absolutely no comparison with regard to the beach. YI has a single small, but pleasant beach. PI has multiple extraordinary beaches. I'm very glad I visited YI and really enjoyed myself, but I doubt I'll go back given the other options. PSV is only a little more expensive than YI and SO much nicer.

I saw "Pirates of the Caribbean" last night. Very enjoyable movie. Johnny Depp is wonderful and so was the amazingly beautiful Keira Knightley. What made it even more fun were the many shots of Young Island and the adjacent rock/island, Fort Duvenette. If you go to Young Island, don't pass up Fort Duvenette. There are stairs carved into the rock, leading to the top (about 300 feet as I recall), where the view is incredible and you can see old cannons (never fired in battle apparently) at the top for protecting the British interests.
