Peter Island food question

Since we'll be spending only 4 nights at PI, I'm now trying to decide which 4 to choose. I.e., whether to include the Saturday night buffet and/or the Caribbean buffet-- or whether just to keep with the non-buffet nights (since so many of the other meals are buffet). Caribbean/West Indies cuisine isn't generally one of our favorites, but perhaps the music that evening is especially good?
Thanks! We're looking forward to this first visit (December) and will keep our fingers crossed that there's another mild hurricane season for everyone.

I'm topping in hopes of getting some responses. It's almost time for me to make my frequent flyer reservations, so I'm hoping to be guided on what days to book Peter Island. Thank you.

Hi Poss:

Although I spent 8 days at PI two years ago I can't speak intelligently regarding their dinner buffet because we went in the off-season (Oct.) and never once had a buffet.

However, I can tell you that we were never disappointed ordering off the menu.
They still did a Caribbean theme night, the only difference we ordered from a menu.

As far as the Caribbean night went...if you've seen one, you've seen them all i.m.o. In other words, P.I.s was no more special or different from any others I've attended.

I am jealous. I LOVED Peter Island. The Caribbean buffet night was awesome with entertainment and really, really good food. The manager's cocktail party is also not to be missed. We ate at the Tradewinds restaurant every night except for the Caribbean buffet. The food is excellent. For breakfast, make sure you order the BANANA PANCAKES. You will absolutely love your vacation. Like I sias, I am soooo jealous!

Fernlover: thanks for responding.
More questions: Can you compare the PI accommodations to some other "upscale" resorts, e.g. Caneel, Little Dix, Biras? What time of year were you there? Was the resort basically full? Did you stay in ocean view or beachfront? Did you hear people above/below/or next to you? Did you go and come from Tortola? Thanks!

We usually try to be at Peter Island Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for sure and here's why... Saturday has the big buffet with enough selections to be mind boggling, Sunday lunch has a Steel Drum band on the beach, Monday night is the most fun of all - a managers cocktail party, wonderful buffet, a Steel Drum band PLUS some Mocko Jumby Stilt Dancers for entertainment! We love it! Here's a review of that night http://www.scubamom.com/bvi-resorts/...rty/index.html

Otherwise, we really enjoy the fine dining at Tradewinds.
