Peter Island beach service

Hi all - I'm leaning towards Peter Island resort for my next trip; for those of you who have gone- is there beach drink service on Deadman's beach?

When I was there last August, there was no beach service for drinks/food. There is a bar pretty much in the center of the beach (at the beach restaurant) and you could walk up to it and order a drink to take back to your lounger.

We just got back from Peter Island - stayed May 1-8 and no, there isn't a beach food/drink service. Deadman's bar/Grill is in the middle of the beach and is so quick to get to for any food/drinks you want. We ordered drinks every day and just took them back to our beach chairs. There was a guy named Steven that would come around every now and then and take drinks to people who wanted them, but he's not around ALL the time. You'll love Peter Island! We did!

heyjen: will you be posting a trip report? PI is one of the places we've not been to yet that I think we'd really like. If you can compare/contrast it to places like Caneel and Little Dix, that'd be great. What room did you stay in? What are the main "plusses" of PI in your view? What's not-so-terrific abt it? Etc. Thanks very much-- and glad you loved your vacation.

Yes- trip report please! I'm still thinking about PI, but now Maroma in Playa del Carmen is sounding great, too- and easier to get to from NYC : )
