Penny - Another Jumby Bay Question
I have decided to go to Jumby Bay for three nights following my five night stay at Cocobay Resort. The Jumby Bay website recently posted an "Escape to Luxury" package for $650 per night for an ocean view room or a rondavel. Since they are the same price, I am torn as to which to book. I called Rosewood and talked to an extremely helpful lady who has actually stayed at Jumby Bay. She said they had just redone the rondavels, and that they are very nice. I was concerned about the comments that they are "dark," and I wondered whether this is still true since they have just been redone. Have you seen the rondavels since they have been redone? Thanks again.

Becca, I have not seen the newly done over Rondavels. I walked by them in Feb. but never got in. I have heard they are very very nice. They now have the outdoor shower-wonderful. The Pond House rooms overlook the beach, they would be 2nd floor rooms-I have seen #38 its lovely. They do not have the outdoor garden shower.
The Rondavels are set back from the water, and they are like little houses.
So I do not blame you for being torn.

Madamepetunia: The Escape to Luxury package is not on Jumby's website yet. You can call Rosewood (the company that owns Jumby Bay) and they will tell you about the package (it includes other room classes as well). Today I spoke with a travel agent who used a wholesaler...we were able to get the Escape to Luxury rates as well a "pay for 6 nights/stay for 7 nights" deal that the woman I talked to at Rosewood couldn't do over the phone. Combining the two special offers, we are going to be able to save over $1800 (compared to the advertised rack rates) for a 7 night stay in a Courtyard Suite...we are thrilled! We hope to fax our documents and get everything finalized tomorrow. Hope that helps.
