One&Only Resorts - Good/Bad/Indifferent?

New to Fodor's but wondering what thoughts are out there about One&Only's Resorts. Have you had good experiences, bad experiences, or none at all. Seriously considering the resort for a trip to Maldives.

Thanks

Haven't been to the Maldives, but I have stayed at both Paradise Island and Palmilla and had an outstanding experience at both vacations. Palmilla maybe just a tad better, but I have no complaints about either.
I enjoyed it more that FS Nevis, or Cap Jalupa. More geared toward adults - less indulgent parents. Quiet luxury without being pretentious.
I would hope Maldives would not let you down.

Thanks Scubagirl and blamona. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the 30 hour travel time to the Maldives (flying from Portland, OR).
I'm glad that you echoed similar comments that I've heard. I think I can classify myself as an adult most of the time

Thanks again

Albee: I went from east coast to Singapore, then to Maldives.
Others go London-Dubai-Maldives.
I broke up my trip by staying some time at the other destinations.

Excuse me but arent't you on the wrong forum?!? The Maldives are on the other side of the world from the Caribbean, close to India. (Were completely inundated by the tsunami last December.)

Yes, Carola22, the Maldives are quite far from the Caribbean. My original question, however, was regarding the One&Only Resorts. I believe they have one or two in the Carribean and I wanted to get a feel if they were nice resorts. After indicating that I was looking at the one in the Maldives, questions and comments just came about from the others.

One and Only in Bahamas is not that great. We were there for 4 nights in June and the pool was a disgrace. Just filthy. And for the rates they charge the bathroom was completely basic...no taadaa reaction at this place. Our butler was wonderful!
