Fiji question
Hi, I'm thinking about attending a workshop at the Wananavu Beach Resort in Rakiraki in the middle of July. I've never been to Fiji but have traveled to Hawaii many times. With 5 extra days, what would you recommend to not miss? It will be me and my DH. We're in need of a relaxing get away. Lodging from $100-$400 a night. Any magical place you loved?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Anyone? I've been doing research and Matamanoa Island Resort looks good. It does seem a bit pricey. Hopefully the accommodations and location qualify the price.
Feedback on Fiji? Has anyone been to both Fiji and Hawaii?
I'm getting 2008 travel plans squared away. I'd like to find a resort that caters more to adults than families so we can have some down time.
Thank you

Hi Lauricelli,
After doing months of research I decided on staying at Navini Island Resort in the Mamanuca Islands this coming June. It will be our first trip to Fiji and I am really looking forward to it. Check out the reviews on tripadvisor. Tripadvisor's Fiji forum is a bit more active than here and will probably yield you more information.
Matamanoa was a close second. What tilted me towards Navini was the smaller size of Navini and the consistently postive comments about the reef, the beach and the service.
Other places that I looked at closely were Toberua, Nanuya Island Resort and Matangi Island.
Hope this helps.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Fiji several times. I am going on my second Blue Lagoon Cruise. Its lovely, informal, (no tuxedo) small ship and a great safe adventure... they have 3 and 5 day cruises and you will visit several islands...

My husband and I did two Blue Lagoon Cruises - a short one and then back to do a longer one. Believe me, I would return and do it another time. Also have stayed at Matangi, Vomo and Matamanoa. Still preferred the cruise.

I am returning this spring for a Blue lagoon cruise. Mush prefer this over a hotel. I do however need to find accomodation for 4 young adults for 2 nights with one in a wheelchair (complete disability). If anyone has ideas, I would appreciate the help
