Norelco Products on Aruba?

Going to Aruba this fall, and hubby would like to replace his Norelco shaver. He says they are made in the Netherlands and wonders if, with the good exchange rate, it would pay to buy one there or if they are even available. Anyone know?
Thanks!

Norelco = Phillips = a Dutch company indeed.

However, I doubt very much you would want to buy one in Aruba from tehe Dutch market, as they oprate on a different voltage, with different plugs etc

Hello Tom - I understand that Aruba uses the same 110V system used in the US - surely they would sell shavers that could be used locally. Perhaps they sell 220V shavers also, for the European trade.

The Caribbean isn't the best place to buy electronics. Most bargains are on luxury goods like jewelry, china, silver, watches, as well as cigars, cigarettes, and liquor. And the exchange rage is actually not good right now. The Netherlands is an EU country; it's usually cheaper to buy EU-made goods in the U.S. I expect you will do better at Wal-Mart or from J&R.

Doug, thank you for the good information. We'll cross the shaver off our list for Aruba!

Doug, I would only wish to contradict on one thing... cameras. In Cayman at least, I find camera gear to be less expensive than anywhere in the world (even haggling in midtown Manhattan!), and the gear has worldwide (not just US) warranties.

I highly recommend Cayman Camera, but also Camera Store and Cathy Church... all great.
