Nightlife in St Martin

We are planning a 40th B-Day trip to St Martin. We've been there twice, but the last time was in 2004 and I'm sure some things have changed. We'll be staying on Orient beach at one of the hotels there. We're looking at staying somewhere on Orient beach.

Since we are celebrating we are interested in going dancing or going to fun bars with good music - not euro techno or rap. I plan on going to Sunset beach bar and Boo Boo Jams. Does anyone have any other suggestions for fun night spots? Thanks for you help!

Try Captain Oliver's restaurant in the Oyster Pond area . they have a buffet there on Saturday nights and always have live entertainment with dancing.
I think they have music other nights too.
also in the same Captain Oliver's complex is Dinghy Dock a fun bar and they have live music a lot too.
Lee's Grill in Simpson bay always has live music too.
get a copy of K-Pasa when you are on the island and it will list where live music is being played.
this is their website..make sure you are in the St. Maarten section

The Lady C floating bar in Simposn Bay is also a hot spot, as is Sunset Beach Bar. In the same area is Bliss Mightclub, which is a pretty cool happening spot.
There also is a cool Piano bar called Soprano's at Maho

and there is a fun piano bar called the Red Piano at pelican resort.
Also The Alley and Pineapple Pete's in Simpson Bay both have live rock and roll or blues bands.

I also think,on Orient, besides Boo Boo Jams, Waikiki Beach is open at night and sometimes has live music. I don't know what nights though, but K-Pase will list it I am sure.
Enjoy!

Thanks for your reply. We would like to pretty much stay on the French side at night. I'll check on K pasa closer to when we go. We have gone to Soprano's Piano bar and loved it. I definitely want to return there.

Where is Oyster Pond in relation to Orient beach? I don't think we've been there before.

Oyster Pond is South of Orient on the same side of the island. it is just at the boundary between french and Dutch side on the East coast.
If you leave Orient and travel South, you will come to the village of Orleans. In the middle of the village, you will see a road to the left. turn there and follow the road along the coast and you will come to Captain Oliver's complex on the left hand side. Check it out in the day time first so you don't get lost if you go at night. It's probably a 20 minute drive at most.
