Nevis Help Needed
Hopefully Sunnyboy will be reading soon...or anyone else...I am heading to Nevis 7/21 for 1 glorious week of R&R at the 4Seasons. Since you live there, I was hoping you could provide me with a weather advisory? We are a little concerned about the tropical storms, etc..Also, it's our 25th wedding anniv. and I would love your opinion on the "over the top" most romantic place to eat...do i need reservations before leaving the states? Any suggestions would be wonderful...first timers..thanks so much

You are in luck - I'm here! TS Emily is quite far away (about 450 miles) and does not pose a threat to Nevis and will be even farther gone by the time of your arrival. Sorry, my crystal ball can't predict what the weather will be for the 21st and the following week (nobody can tell you that far in advance).
For your 25th anniversary dinner I'd strongly suggest you dine at Montpelier (I think it's the best place on the island) for romantic atmosphere and, of course, they serve excellent food. If they are serving dinner in the Mill the night of your anniversary book that as the setting doesn't get any more romantic! They have very limited seating in the Mill -something like 6 or 8 people - and serve a 4 course meal instead of the 3 course meal on the Terrace. Don't worry if they are not serving in the Mill or if it's booked, you'll likely find their Terrace Dining to be just as romantic (it's just a little larger area but the tables are well spaced so you have the illusion of privacy and you won't be overheard by other dinners). The views of the lights from Charlestown and St. Kitts add to the ambiance. Getting a reservation is not usually a problem but being you want a specific date and if it is early in your stay you might want to make reservation before you depart. Otherwise you can usually wait until you are on island. The concierge at 4S will gladly make the reservation for you or you can contact Montpelier directly at 869-469-3462. Check out their web-site at: http://www.montpeliernevis.com/
Have a great trip!

Visormom, I couldn't agree more with Sunnyboy about Montpelier for a special occasion dinner. My husband and I dined there for our joint birthday celebration last fall and it was highly memorable. Fantastic food & service, lovely atmosphere (Terrace), and I thought still a good value despite the high price tag.
Hope you have a wonderful time exploring Nevis and take heart--even if it rains, there will still be plenty of things to do and places to explore. But with luck you'll have plenty of sunshine!
