Need help narrowing down destination
Hi there! I am new to the forum, but am in need of some guidance from season travelers like yourselves! My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary this winter and are planning a trip for the 2nd week in January. I have been to Mexico (Puerto Vallarta) and Hawaii, and would prefer to go somewhere besides Mexico and Hawaii would be an option, but would rather go someplace new. We will be flying out of Denver. The things we are looking for are:
1- Good fishing for the husband (he would prefer someplace where he can do fly fishing either wading or from a kayak)
2- Good snorkeling (not going to do scuba)
3- Warm weather for swimming even in January (I don't want to be in sweatshirts and pants!)
4- Nice beaches, clear water
5- Budget is 5k max including airfare if it would be all inclusive, if not all inclusive we would like to stay under 4k, but to be honest we have no idea how much we would need to budget for food/drinks.
We are really open to anywhere so would appreciate any suggestions!

I suggest you consider Panama as a destination. Beaches are fantastic, water is warm and fishing is excellent.
Another option might be Small Hope Bay in the Bahamas. I have not stayed there in a number of years, but when I did it was a very casual beach and sports focused resort.

Belize has excellent fly fishing. In some places, you can fish from shore. I see people catching 'bones' in front of my condo on Ambergris Caye. A neighbor even caught a permit off the dock next door.
We're there in January every year, the water is warm enough to swim in the ocean, pools are a bit cool. Most days it's shorts and t-shirts, occasionally a sweatshirt in the evenings.
Beaches are ok, but, certainly not world class. On Ambergris, the sand is soft and white, but the beaches are narrow, and there is often sea grass in the water. It's also shallow quite a ways out, hence, being able to fly fish.....
I understand the fishing is better in southern Belize, but, I'm not sure if there are areas where you can fish from shore, or if it's all by boat.
Very few all inclusives in Belize.

What about somewhere different in Mexico? If you mean if you've just been to PV one time (not sure from your post) it's a HUGE and diverse country. It would be ashame to cross it off after just one visit one place (although I do love Puerto Vallarta). The "Mayan Riviera" (Caribbean coast of Mexico) offers what you seek.
