Need Help Choosing Destination and Hotel

Hi
I have been looking at some hotels in the Caribbean and everything seems very expensive. For a 6 night vacation in late august, including airfare and accomadation, it looks to be around $2000 canadian a person. I am hoping to find a good place that will take it down to somewhere in the $1000 - $1500 range.

I am looking for a hotel anywhere in the Caribbean except for Jamaica, Cuba, Aruba, the DR or Haiti.
We are interested in hanging around beautiful beaches, and activities aren't too important. We probably wouldn't leave the resort that much so things like a beach, pools, restaurents etc. are needed.

We don't like high-rises but are interested in all -inclusives. Is it possible to go away for a week to the Caribbean with a budget of less than $1500 CAN per person?

Please help me find the perfect resort for me and my family.

Thanks,
Guy

Guy we are going to St.John USVI in June for the first time.We are staying at the St.John Inn our room is $135 a night. There are not any all-inclusive resorts on St. John.It is a low key island, not as built up as St.Thomas.Depending on were you will be flying from ,our airfare for 6 people from NC to STT is around $3000.The hotel for 6 nights and 2 rooms is $1400.If I where you I would try to save more money so you can enjoy a place with nice beaches and food for the budget you have Mexico might be an option.

Yes you can. We stay at a place on Long Island, Bahamas, called www.chezpierrebahamas.com They have excellent, empty beaches, and neat little cottages on top of the beach, however I would recomment you also rent a car to see the rest of the island. Curt

Check out Cancun and Playa del Carmen on the Yucatan and the islands of Cozemel, Antigua and the Dominican Republic. There are lots of reasonabily priced AI's in those places.

Sorry, I just realized you didn't want to go to the DR but check out the others.
