Marriot St. Kitts
The girls are thinking about a week in St. Kitts. Since we are all experienced AC casino-ers
The Marriot seems like a probable destination. I called them and the prices for the beach view villas are great when you split them up by 4. I don't see much on the boards about it.
Anyone out there please comment. Planned date is Oct. 2011. Beaches don't look great but we are all over 50 and the pool seems more appealing.
thanks

I was just at the Marriot in February.....the beach is on the Atlantic side -and is quite nice.... but is minutes away from fabulous beaches on the Caribbean side - Frigate Bay and Friars - there is another one further down - next to Turtle - but I can't recall the name - all have restaurants and facilities.....back to the Mariott - the pool area is fabulous and the beach is nice too - just on the Atlantic side.....the casino is big...Basseterre is nice - where they've added shops by the cruise ship port.....

Not my favorite Marriott due to it being a behemoth that dominates the landscape, but been there several times (once on points and twice on cruise stops, most recently just last week). I think the beach is actually pretty nice and picturesque because you can see the southeast peninsula of St. Kitts from the beach, it is very wide and you can walk on it a long ways, once you go beyond the Marriott the beach is deserted. There are a number of good restaurants and fun beach bars nearby, there's some shopping down at the Port, there are also shops at the Marriott, a spa, all in all a decent choice for a girls trip, especially if the price is right!
