LUXURY DOMINICAN RESORTS

My husband and I are planning to take our 3
teenagers (14, 15, 16) to the Dominican Republic for easter break. Could someone
please recommend a nice resort with great
beaches, good food, entertaiment for the
teens. Has to be 5 stars or luxury. Not
Puerto Plata pls. Someone suggested Samana
How is that????

Parrotmom I'm just curious; why do you think Casa De Campo is the best resort in DR? Sorry Ileana for butting into your thread!

We were just at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace over the Christmas holidays with my teenage girls 14 and 16 and it was lovely. The beach was beautiful, plenty of natural shade under palm trees, plenty of lounge chairs on the beach(although at the pool they were always taken). The rooms were very nice, the food was fine for an all inclusive, as none of them has stellar food, and the entertainment in most of the all inclusives is hokey, and this was no different, but still fine (some painfully bad but most somewhat enjoyable). The rate at Casa de Campo during the same time period was half again as much as the Bavaro Palace. I hear it is lovely.

It has one of the finest golf courses. Leg of the Dog (Ithink tht's right).. it has been home to many musical stars and is the only 6 star or above in the D.R. Oscar de Larenta, Julio, Michael Jackson and many more owned homes there until they move up to Punta Cana..Also, It's alway listed in travel magazines as one of the top ten in the Caribbean..
