Looking for Trip Ideas

Hi -

A girlfriend and I are looking for trip ideas. We're still in the early stages of determining where we'd like to go. Honestly, at this point, we're open to anything. Any suggestions? The trip would span 1 - 1.5 weeks and would take place in June, July or August.

Thanks!

To give you the best advice, we need a little more info, please. What are your interests (do you want to scuba dive and hike or lie on the beach and enjoy the scenery or ........)? What is your budget?

Hi cmcfong:

My friend is primarily looking to relax and lounge on the beach. But I know she would be interested in hiking, checking out sights and snorkeling.

I enjoy relaxing on the beach, but I'd prefer to spend most of the day hiking, exploring, and engaging in fun water activities. We're both 31 and located in California. We haven't discussed budget yet -- I'm guessing we'd like to keep the total cost under $3,000.
Jamaica is on my friend's short list - but we're open to any ideas. Thanks!

-lax to san juan (sju)approx $435 9 1/2 to 10 hr
-lax to mobayjamaica(mbj) $440 9-11 hrs
when my santa barbara friends come to the carib they fly red-eye flights.
-lax to cancun (cun) $325 4 1/2 hrs

mexico is hot/humid in summer but would offer you great deals at the all-ins and hotels along the maya riveria coast south of cancun. great beaches and tons to do. this site is really good: www.locogringo.com

Virginia's advice certainly is sound; but, if you are still thinking Caribbean, consider the Virgin Islands, particularly St.John. You can rent a house or condo and you will find good snorkle opportunities, great beaches, and excellent hiking.
Have a good trip.
