Looking for an all inclusive experience for adults ...
I need some help ... I have business in Tampa Fl early December (I'm from Oregon), this will be the 6th year I've been to FL and my husband and I usually plan a tropical break following my business event, we have enjoyed many visits to many parts of the beautiful state - Key West, Ft. Lauderdale, South Beach, etc. ... this year we want to change it up and get off shore, maybe an adult all inclusive resort - Jamaica or the Bahamas ... I'd appreciate suggestions for something that would be well accomdated to a flight out of Tampa, all inclusive - adults only or adult oriented - we have our own kid and enjoy getting away from the kids on this break. Don't think we're cut out for a Hedonism type experience (we're in our 40's) but we aren't prudes and we love to have fun. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In Jamaica, I think the most up-scale and more "adult" all-inclusive is Swept Away. Jamaica is a handsome and interesting island, though not without "problems." Perhaps Google that resort or search for it here in Fodors or on Trip Advisor, etc. We were there about a dozen years ago (before it became one of the Sandals properties in fact), and we liked it very much. Don't know what it's like now. Good luck.

Forget the AI's. Rent a villa at Moondance and enjoy your own staff on a great stretch of beach where you can walk around and explore. Staying in an AI takes away from the island experience and the food is usually subpar. My opinion anyway.

My husband & I pretty much only go to Adults Only All Inclusive resorts. Here are some of our favorites.....
Grand Lido Negril & Grand Lido Braco are very nice, upscale resorts in Jamaica. We've been to the Grand Lido resorts 7 times (8 coming up in 40 days!) & really like them.
We've been twice to Sans Souci (which is now part of the Couples chain & used to be a GL) is a gorgeous resort.
Couples Swept Away (which is NOT part of the Sandals chain) in Negril is a great resort. The beach there is beautiful -- nice, powdery white sand & swimming-pool clear ocean water. We stayed in an Atrium room w/ shutters on all 4 walls & we loved that room -- very tropical feel to it. Couples Negril was also a very nice resort, but we liked CSA a bit better.
Secrets Capri was an awesome resort (in the Mayan Riviera). We had a great oceanfront room & the food there was just about the best we've ever had on a vacation !!
Secrets Excellence Punta Cana & Secrets Excellence Riviera Cancun were nice resorts, but not quite up to the level of Secrets Capri. And the 2 Sec. Exc. resorts are changing management in Fall '06 & early '07.
We've been to 2 Sandals resorts on St Lucia, & probably wouldn't return to one -- didn't like the atmosphere there.
It's so hard to know what other people might like or dislike -- if you have any more specific questions, I'd be happy to try to answer them.
I also have pics of our vacations if you're interested:

I second Secrets Capri! Great place. Great food. Quiet beach.
Grand Lido Braco was a great resort with a not-so-great (very rocky) beach.
Couples Negril was very nice! The ocean there is like a lake because of the bay. Very nice.
Peace, Greenie

Sandals on New Providence is a beautiful spot, and it's easy to get downtown Nassau for some site seeing and shopping. It's also an easy flight from Florida.
Also you might check out Pink Sands on Harbour Island www.islandoutpost.com and Runaway Hill www.runawayhill.com
Runaway Hill is adults and is a small resort only 12 rooms with wonderful food. You can choose to dine in or at one of the many restaurants on island, so you get the feel of the island. YOu also will have one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
