Looking for advice - Riu Tropical Bay
Our family of 11, ages 10 thru 72 will be staying at Riu Tropical Bay during Christmas. We've read many wonderful reviews of the resort, and saw it two years ago when we stayed at Couples, but would like information regarding the most desireable room location. We'd like to be as close to the beach as possible. Should we upgrade to an oceanfront? Which area of the beach is least crowded, the side nearest Couples or the other side. Please help us with any requests we should make. Also, very important, is there a tennis court? All the literature says yes, but I read one review saying there was no tennis. Is there a great deal of walking required at the resort, from rooms to restaurant, to beach, etc. We have 2 senior citizens who get around well, but also tire from too much walking. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR RESPONDING. hp

the cayman island is very expensive $200 US a day to eat. 7 mile beach is nothing in front of the marriott. The food was good at brazzire, light house and caylaso grill. Go to Rum Point. The beach is beautiful there. You cannot bring drinks there. They sell the drinks to you 8 buck for a beer. Hammocks and beach chair available. So snorkel and pick up a counch and look it in the eye. Car rental was 105 dollars (cheap)for 8 days...Have fun... No Worries!

She's talking about the 7 mile beach in Nebgril Jamaica if I'm not mistaken...
(I haven't stayed at Riu but can highly recommend the "Office of Nature" - a very basic tent structure to the right of the Riu on the beach where you can get incredibly fresh fish and lobster cooked for you on the spot, they have a couple of craft vendors there too. Very cold red stripe and great storytellers
