Last minute to Grand Cayman
We are looking to book a week in Grand Cayman. We could leave as early as next Saturday, 2/23, but we do have flexibity with our dates. I've been at this computer all day, and it seems like everything I've seen is out for one reason or another. We'd like to keep it around $300 a night. We'd like a pool, and a balcony with at least a partial ocean view. Anyone have any advice on "last minute" deals and how to find them? Help! Thanks, everyone.

^ might help?
actually all the ususal suspects - hotels.com, expedia, priceline plus sometimes shermans travel has last minute deals.
or if you select a few resorts - call them directly. if they aren't booked by now for the 23rd they may make a great deal with you.

I am partial to central 7 Mile Beach. If a good beach is important to you this is where I'd recommend staying. Villas of the Galleon and Plantana condos would ne my first choice. Westin hotel is also nice. But youare going in high season so rates will be high. Check VRBO.com for rental by owners. If you want more remote, look into the Reef Resort onthe East End or Turtle Nest Inn in Bodeen Town.

Villas of the Galleon look beautiful, and the location is great, but they don't have a pool which is a deal breaker for us. The Plantana's rates are over $500 per night. The Westin is around $450. I know it is "high season". I may consider the Reef or Turtle Inn. I've heard wonderful things about both. A question, though. Is there a "windy side" of the island? I remember reading that in a post. Thanks again.

I am not sure which is the windy side..I think it more depends on the time of year. Also check out Christoper Columbus condos on North 7MB. Or marriott courtyard or Sunshine Suites..both are across the street from the beach so will be cheaper but in great locations.
