jacketwatch: re Fiji. As a matter of fact, I think that'll be our next adventure next year! Remember: "Work hard.... but play harder!!" ;-)

To city girl: I like that philosophy! BTW the best rates we got for Fiji were from costco travel. If you like mingling with the locals you will love Fiji-truely friendly people. If I can help in any way please let me know and enjoy! Larry

I have enjoyed reliveing my cayman adventure through you all.

I loved Cayman so much and felt so safe there. The locals where incredibly friendly and warm. We never left cash on our chairs or in our bags but we did leave our belongings out in the open on the beach and never thought anyone would take them. I wouldnt have been shocked if the did, but it was nice to know as a few single girls traveling alone we wouldnt be harassed or uncomfortable going out at night.
How many time do you hear the phrase
"Its a great resort to stay in you just cant go out at night"
I dont want to feel like a prisioner, the digs might be nicer but I dont want to worry about what happens when the sun goes down"

as far as the expense of luxury. I hope they never lower the prices, it keeps the obnoxious, loud cheap skates from ruining the peace and quiet. You pay for perfection.

Cant wait to go back..........

We were in Grand Cayman this past October for 1 week. Some locals told us that they do not bother to lock the doors on their houses and apartments. It never hurts to be safe though because there are a lot of visitors to the island.

This was our second trip to GC and we loved the island. We can't wait to go back.

As regular visitors to this site know, Cayman is my home and I run The Reef Resort down here....just got back from a short trip to Negril and, whilst it has its charms, it is great to be back home on an island where we don't have "burglar bars" on every entrance to the houses
