Jumby Bay-like on $4000...
Hello all. Planning my honeymoon, and our first choice is Jumby Bay. However, my budget may be (more realistically) around $4000. So, for a week, where should I look that has the beaches, serenity, and ease of Jumby but minus the lofty price tag? Jamaica and St. Martin and Anguilla are out (got family there, not trying to see them on honeymoon
!!
So, if anyone can find me Jumby at $4000, you'd be my hero! Thanks!

The cheapest price I have seen for Jumby is $650 a night for the off season. I think it was on islanddestinations.com, you can look but need a travel agent to book it for you. I just checked for next April and the cheapest rate was $950 a night which is unfortunately beyond my price range. We are going instead to the Four Seasons Punta Mita in Mexico, with the meal plan it runs anywhere from $500+ a night in the offseason.

I don't know that heroism plays into this, but I know of one way you can possibly get a week at JB for <$4000.
I bought a 5 night package in one of the Courtyard Suites there (normally $900+ per night) for $2900 on LuxuryLink.com.
Jumby doesn't put rooms up for auction on an ongoing basis, but they appear now and then.
If you have some time to wait and follow the activity at LL, you may be able to get a great deal.
What month are you honeymooning?
The auctions block out high season dates like December 20-March something.

For me, the thing which sets Jumby Bay apart from most other resorts is its unique location. That is, its location on a small island practically by itself, yet only a couple miles from Antigua, provides a very secluded feeling and insures no tourism will bother anyone, yet it's not so far from the beaten path that it's a nuisance to get to (only a 10 minute ferry ride, and very short drive from the airport).
Many Caribbean resorts offer nicer rooms than JB, better food, more activities. It's the ambience that's unusual at JB.
Given those issues, I can't think of any other resorts which offer this type of atmosphere at a cheaper price than JB. It's expensive for resort owners to offer privacy and seclusion because fewer people are footing the bill for the operation of an entire resort.
PLaces like Little Dix Bay and Pink Sands offer seclusion, but aren't any cheaper. Some people here rave about Young Island offering seclusion at a reasonable price. I've not been there.
Guana Island almost meets your budget for May arrival and is certainly very secluded. You might check it out at guanaislandresort.com.
There are certainly a number of places you'll be able to enjoy in the $4000 range which will be very satisfying. If budget is very strict and you don't want to compromise quality, consider shortening the trip to 6 days.
Good luck with your planning.

Have you looked into Peter Island. A friend stayed there and really loved it. I am planning my honeymoon also but for Oct. so I am not sure of the rates for May. We are doing Cannel Bay, Little Dix and Tortola, or Peter Island
