Marion's advice is right on target, as usual.
Have your driver stop at the large grocery store in MoBay so you can pick up some provisions (bottled water or Red Stripe and a snack) for the drive and change your money there. The exchange rate is better there than at the airport. We also bought some tonic and citrus fruit to go with the bottle of gin we brought with us so that we could mix G&Ts in our room. We found the prices to be fairly comparable to what we pay at home for the few items we bought.

SuperPlus/Bogue Plaza supermarket is
the usual stop for better-than-airport
rate currency conversions (ATMs, banks, anyplace is better than airport). If
you get in on anyday but Sunday, Westgate Plaza, with a bank, supermarket, health food store, and S&S
Liquours, MoBay's best 'package store' for wine and upmarket imported brandname liquours is well worth the stop. Bring a cache of US$1 and US$5 with you which will come in handy
when you're out and about since change
for even a Jamaican 1,000/about US$16-17
can be scarce in the country. Southfield and Black River are the nearest banks, each about 30 min. drive.

Englishharbour,
Wow, it took a lot of searching to find you !
A lot of people here took time and effort to help you, and happily so.
But part of the fun of posting, either with a question or advice, is feedback ;-)
How was your trip ?
There is someone currently posting and looking for advice about Treasure Beach.
How about a trip report...or just a few words reflecting your opinions of the area ?
Thanks !
Marion
