Itinerary - leaving tomorrow! HELP!!
I've never felt less prepared for a trip in my life, but here's what we're doing.
Friday arrive at 2:30, check into the Normandie Hotel in San Juan. Planning on going into OSJ for the evening for drinks/dinner. I don't have reservations. Will I need them?
Saturday - pretty open. Might spend the morning over at one of the beaches (maybe Ocean Park or Isla Verde, then take a hike in El Yunque for the afternoon. Or we might head west to the caves.
Sunday - check out of the Normandie, head to Fajardo to the El Conquistador. Maybe back to El Yunque on the way. We really want to kayak in the bio bay in Fajardo that evening. I haven't found any info on pre-booking a kayak tour in fajardo instead of mosquito bay. Can anyone help?????
Monday - hang around the resort for the morning, early afternoon. Then back to San Juan to catch a 6pm flight home.
Right now I'm freaking out that we won't be able to do any of the things we want.

I don't think you will be able to do all of you want to do in that short amount of time. Here is my suggestion:
Friday - Head to OSJ, as you said. You can walk and see the restaurants and pick the one you like the most. Reservations aren't absolutely necessary for most restaurants.
Saturday - Basically, you have two options:
1. Spend your early morning at the beaches and head possibly at noon to El Yunque. You have to remember though that El Yunque is 45 minutes away from San Juan and that it starts getting dark around at 5:30pm, so your stay at El Yunque will be short.
2. Head west to the caves. This will definetely take the whole day to do so. You won't have time to visit the nearby beaches.
Sunday - If you decide to visit the caves the day before, then head out to El Yunque. If not, then spend the day in Palomino, the resort's private island which has an amazing beach. At night, check out the BioBay. I'm not sure if you can pre-book the tour, but I'm sure your resort's concierge will help you out.
Monday - What you suggested is fine. Remember that El Conquistador is 45-50 minutes away from San Juan's airport and that you might catch nasty traffic, so I suggest that if you want to be two hours early to you flight, you should leave at 2:30pm. If not, you can't leave after 3 - 3:30pm.
Hope this helps!

hi, i've never been on puerto rico so my help is sketchy. but found the following info on goto that might help you plan.
The phenomenon occurs sporadically in warm seas around the world, but Puerto Rico is one of the only places on the planet where you can depend on it every evening at two different protected bays. The best known is at La Parguera, between Mayagüez and Ponce in the southwest of the island. A cottage industry in the village is based on showing the bay to visitors.
The more spectacular phosphorescent bay is in Vieques, the island municipality off of the main island’s northeastern shore. The experience of seeing—and being surrounded by—this eerie light is nothing less than magical!

I am leaving for PR on Saturday. Did you end up going to either of the phosphorescent bays while you were there? I have been to the one in La Parguera before, and was not too impressed. Thinking about checking out Vieques this time around, but I can't figure out if there is a way to do it from the main island (returning the same night). We are staying at a timeshare, so a night in Vieques is not an option.

gstove, we ended up going to the bio bay near Fajardo in Las Cabezas nature preserve and had a fabulous time. We used Las Tortugas Adventures. http://www.kayak-pr.com/ Our guide, Alvin was great. I can't tell you how it compares to the bio bay in Vieques, but I really can't imagine a better experience than we had.
Hope you have a wonderful time.
