Hi everyone, My husband & I just returned from a cruise with a one day stop in Barbados. I can not tell you all how helpful Lois' tips were in helping us make the most of this one day!!

Lois~~I want to thank you soooo much!!
Emerson was great!! I called him from the pier, he picked us up after we toured the rum factory (which gave him a little time to get across the island to meet us) & took us on a 51/2 hour tour of the island. It was wonderful! We all had luch together at his favortie local place, the Fishermans Pub in Spicetown, I showed him your list of highlights & off we went..Drinks at The Krane was my highlight of the day. He was so professional & such a nice man. Can't thank you enough for your help.

Thank you for the kind words - I'm glad it helped. We were very impressed with Emerson. By the way, just so I know what to tell others, what did he charge? I know it may have changed since we last saw him.

My newest tips have been updated since our recent 2 weeks there in July 2004. Anyone can write again for he updates. Lois

Lois~~ Emerson charged us $120.00. Our tour was 5 1/2 hrs, plus time to come pick us up at the Rum Factory.(He told us $20.00 per hour, not per person as so many of them charge) We also bought his lunch at Fisherman's Pub, drinks at the Krane & tip. We felt it was well worth it & enjoyed our day very much.
I was happy to get to see so many of the places that you all have talked about on this board. I think if we are fortunate enough to go back, we liked the looks of the Bourganvilla (sp?) & The Krane, although that's a little more isolated. Emerson thought that were some nice places on the South coast at a little more reasonable pricing. I would be interested in hearing about any villa's or condo's that you are familiar with. We like to travel with our sons & my extended family & are always looking for nice places we can stay together. There are usually 11-12 of us. Thanks again!!

Lois, we just got back from 8 glorious days in Barbados at the Bougainvillea! We had the time of our lives!! Your tips really made the difference in helping us plan the vacation of our lives.
