For anyone who has stayed at the Iberostar Bavaro, Punta Cana or Dominican... how do they monitor which guests are staying at the hotels? An old friend will be in the Dominican Republic doing research for a documentary. I would love to have her come stay with me for a night or two so we can visit and catch up. However, neither of us want to pay for her, I have a single room anyway. Normally, I am a very law-abiding citizen, but in this case, would it be possible to sneak her in for a couple days? I have been to all-inclusives before where this would be very possible. However, how do they monitor things at these Iberostars? Are there bracelets or cards you have to have on you at all times? Do they check everyone coming through the main entrance of the hotel? I know this is a random question, but any advice would be much appreciated!

You think paying guests will take kindly to waiting in line at dinner behind or sharing poolspace and resources with someone who's there stealing from the resort?
A similar question is occasionally asked on the US board about "sneaking" into the pools at the better Hawaiian resorts. The responses are almost always unanimous. And many people state that if they caught someone stealing resources from paying guests that they'd call hotel security.
I think I would too.

Adults pay for what they consume

I am not sure if they still do the "wrist band" but when I was in Punta Cana each resort had wrist bands on there own guests in different colors. We strolled through some other resorts, just to check them out and we were watched closely. I don't think your idea would fly at all. Especially if your friend has no wrist band on.

you are unbelievable! first x's 2 all the posts above. second if your "friend" wants you to do this are they really your friend at all? third if your pal can afford to be there, making a film, they can d--- well afford a night in a hotel. i too would turn you in. and have you NO concern at all for the security issue after all our country has been through recently.

If anyone had taken the time to understand my question, they would realize I am looking to hear from people who have actually been to these resorts because I am curious about the logistics of how they keep track of the guests and non-guests. I have stayed at this resort and loved it. I think you'd be fine to have someone stay with you in your room, but as far as using the restaurants and hotel and pool, people would probably turn you in. This is an AI resort and others spent lots of money and would be pissed if they saw an outsider getting their priveleges. Why not have the person use you only for your room?

All of the Iberostars are together and do use wristbands. I was there last April.
